Alfonso R. Loustaunau, (Al), was called by the Lord to his heavenly home on March 23, 2014 at the age of 83; surrounded by his loving wife, Margie, of 62 years, his children and grandchildren. Born in El Paso in 1930, he graduated from Cathedral in 1949. He was an Air Force, Korean War, Veteran. Following his service he began his profession as an Ironworker and upon retiring, he represented Ironworkers as the Business Agent. Al was a man of faith, a devoted Catholic and ACTS brother. He will always be remembered for his hard work ethic and loving caring persona. Having a love for the great outdoors, he was a man of adventure. Every back road was worth exploring. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his dirt bike and quad with his kids. He enjoyed and continually worked to enhance the family ranch in Shafter, TX and his portion of “God’s country” in Timberon, NM. His dream was to leave his children and grandchildren a place to enjoy the beauty of nature that he so dearly cherished.
He will be reunited with his parents, Benjamin and Maria and his siblings: Marie Quinnan, Martha Navarro, Rose Baca, Benjamin and Arturo Loustaunau. He is survived by his wife Margie, his children Bob (Christy) Loustaunau, Elsa (Victor) Maldonado, Mike (Julie) Loustanau, Kathy (Ben) Langford, and David (Laurie) Loustaunau; grandchildren: Bobby, Josh, Cody, and Cassidy Loustaunau, Dr. Christine and Matthew Maldonado, Victoria, Erica and Jeremiah Loustaunau, Nick and Maddie Langford, and Miranda, Jacob, and Nathaniel Loustaunau; great grandchildren: Michael Jimenez, Noah and Elijah Loustaunau. We would like to express our thanks to Hospice Mariposa and Chela Varela for their loving and faithful service to our beloved father. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal Service to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
