Alice Galindo Arevalo

Alice Galindo Arevalo, 85, passed away peacefully in El Paso, TX, on Friday, January 17, 2014. Alice was born in Houston, TX on August 5, 1928. She graduated from Lanier High School in San Antonio, Texas. Alice married the love of her life, Tommy Arevalo and together they moved to El Paso, Texas, where he served in the US Army and retired as an El Paso Fireman. They remained happily married until his passing away on November 14, 2009. Alice volunteered for many years at Helen Ball Elementary School. She loved to sew, loved to do aerobics at the Senior Citizens Center and was a faithful member of the El Paso Women’s Republican Party. She also loved to travel with the Jolly Elders Group and ate donuts every Wednesday morning at the local Southern Maid Donut Shop with her Senior Citizen Friends. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Tommy Arevalo, her Brother and Sister-in-Law, Charles and Gloria Galindo, her Sister, Ruth Galindo, her Mother Celia F. Galindo and her Father Luis Galindo and her Brother-in-Law, Frank Espinoza and various Nieces and Nephews. She is survived by her Daughter Mary Jane Arevalo Webb, Grandson, Tommy Carl Cushing and his wife, Heidi, 2 Great Granddaughters, Zoey and Kamryn; her Sister, Carmen Espinoza and her children, Steven, Robert, Angie, Frances, Ruben, Sammy and Annie; and the Galindo family – Gloria, Sylvia, Fred, Annette and Yvette; her Cousin, Leonard Barrera and all his children; her Brother and Sister-in-Law, Frankie and Gloria Arevalo; her Sister-in-Law, Mamie and Husband, Jesse Garza, numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and adopted family members (Kathleen Jones McCandless); God-daughters and other relatives. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
