Angela Lara, 64, a school counselor of El Paso, passed away August 20, 2014. She was born in Nogales, Durango, Mexico, on December 7, 1949 to Indalecio and Dolores Torres. Mrs. Lara was a graduate of Jefferson High School, the University of Texas at El Paso, and Sul Ross State University. She was a proud mother, grandmother and wife.
In addition to her husband, Rey Lara, Mrs. Lara is survived by her sons Larry Barrios, Mark Barrios, Rey Lara, Jr., Aldo Lara, and Greg Lara. Grandchildren are Mariah Ballesteros, Jalen Barrios, Jude Barrios, Santiago Lara, Raymond Lara, and Simone Lara. Her siblings are Maria Luisa Luebke, Dolores Carrasco, Teresa LaBorde, Rosalina Torres, Indalecio Torres, Jr., Javier Torres, and Elena Torres.
Mrs. Lara’s life will be celebrated at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014. Rosary Prayer begins at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 1118 N Mesa Street. Burial will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
