Anna Meece

ANNA LOUISE (PRIEST) MEECE Second generation El Pasoan, Anna Louise (Priest) Meece passed away on July 30, 2017 at the age of 101. Born on Janurary 8, 1916 to John Edgar and Louise Anna Priest in her grandparents' home on North Stanton, she attended Fannin and Crockett schools and was a proud graduate of Austin High, Class of 1933. On Febuary 8, 1936, she married Luther Marshall (LM,"Mickey") Meece, Jr. Together in 1953, they established The Glass House and began a family business which today transitions to a third generation. She leaves as her legacy, two devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Sharon and Tom and Andrea; grandchildren, Michelle (Scot) Buchanan, Michael (Ashley) Meece, Matthew (Jessica) Meece, Megan (Zach) Paul. She delighted in ten beautiful great-grandchildren: Davis (Lainey), Madison and Ellie Buchanan, Lyla and McKinley Meece, Jonah, Spencer and Noah Meece, Thomas and Bennett Paul. She is also survived by her cousins, Dorothy Williams, Virginia Priest, Patsy O'Gorman and nephews, Sam, Mike and Dave Adkins, Bill Kiely and their families. She was preceded in death by LM and her sister, Gracie Adkins and her husband Al. Our family would like to thank Patty Avila, Urmi Marquez and all the ladies at Ruthie's Place Foster Home for the special love and care they gave to Mom in her last years. In addition, the family is very greatful to Willie Olmstead, Dr. Barabra Reeves and Chaplain Edwardo Henningham at Hospice El Paso who provided exceptional care for Anna. A graveside service at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 8700 Dyer will be held at 10am Saturday, August 5, 2017 where she will be buried next to her beloved husband, LM.
