Ascencion Adame

Our loving mother, age 92 left this world May 21, 2018. She has gone to join her one true love, her husband of 57 years, Juan Adame. She was born in La Porte, Texas and at the age of nine her family moved to Torren, Mexico. She started working early in her life and as a young girl of twelve she helped her mother who was at the time bedridden by sickness, in caring for her large family. As a young bride she helped our father support the home by sewing clothes for neighbors. With her fortitude and grit, she brought the family from a poor background in Mexico to a better life in the United States. There were many times in her life during which she held two jobs. She was employed at Farah for 20 years and Levi Strauss for 10. She knew personally and loved each one of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren which were over 100. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Adame, son Pedro, grandson Brian, and granddaughter Maria and Carolina. She is survived by her sons Antonio and Ramiro, daughters Emma, Irene, Hortencia, Adela, Graciela and Alicia, plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas on Friday, May 25, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery on Saturday, May 26 at 9:00 a.m.
