Athanasios G. Andritsos

ATHANASIOS “Thanos” G. ANDRITSOS passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born in Amfikleia, Greece. He came to Fort Bliss, Texas through his service with the Greek Air Force and met and married his love, Maria Asuncion Gaeta. His life was emblematic of the American dream with his many successes achieved through independence and perseverance. He was a strong and extraordinary man and loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed. Thanos was preceded in death by his brother, Demetrios Andritsos, and sister, Efrosini Andritsos Christou. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maria; his children Anna, George (Jennifer), Michael (Leslie), Daphne (Robert Calderon); and by his beloved grandchildren Sophia, Zoe, Chrysanthe, Lucas, Nicholas and Eleni. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM.
