Barbara M. Large

August 21, 1942 — October 26, 2014

Barbara M. Large (Crowell) was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to Frank and Virginia Crowell. She was a 48 year resident of El Paso, Texas, mostly in the Dolphin Terrace area she so loved. After retiring from Taylor Publishing Company she focused her energy on her family, and volunteering at Dolphin Terrace Elementary and the Humane Society. Patriotic and proud of her family’s military service, Barbara was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion Post #58, and Moose Lodge Chapter 2641. Her bright blue eyes and contagious smile let you know she was here and everything was going to be okay. Her bright and spirited personality led her to be known as “Grandma” by not only her grandchildren, but also the many people she became acquainted with over the years. Barbara passionately and enthusiastically attended activities, ceremonies, and sporting events in which her loved ones participated. An avid bowler, dart competitor, and Estate Sale connoisseur, Barbara loved to lead an active life, lighting up every function she attended. Always one to be counted on, Barbara came through to all in need, be it family or friend. As a young girl, she spent summers at her grandparent’s cabin on Great East Lake, New Hampshire. Over the years, Barbara loved to return to New England, visiting family, friends, and the places and she loved. Preceded by in death by parents, and loving husband Earl. Survived by loving children Deborah Crozier-Kiesel (Rick), Larry Crozier (Jeanne), Frank Crozier, and Sandy Crozier. Loving Grandmother to Zak Kiesel(Marah), Sara Kiesel-Fowler(Jason), Kaylie Crozier, Jake Kiesel, Kyle Crozier, Ashley Crozier, Dakota Crozier, and Colton Crozier. Her beloved great-grandchildren are Alyssa, Michael, Lucas, James, Jaxon, and Thomas. Dearest sister Ellen Collard(Scott), and nieces Caitlin and Kendra. Also grieving are faithful companion Charles Bridges, loving, supportive friend Janie Zermenio-Laca and many close friends. In Lieu of flowers please make contributions to the El Paso Humane Society.
