Benjamin Aguilera Sr. 58, passed away September 21, 2014. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Vangie Aguilera; son, Benjamin Aguilera Jr.; and step-daughter, Melissa Medina. Left to remember his memories are his sisters: Maria Del Carmen (Roger) Ledbetter, Maria de Lourdes (Charles) Petersen, Maria Guadalupe (Mario) Lewis, Margarita (Ruben) Acosta, Maria de la Luz (Daniel) Farina, Elvira (Javier) Vasquez, and Maria Magdalena (Beatriz Mateus) Aguilera; sisters-in-law: Jessie Aguilera and Terry Aguilera. Awaiting his arrival in Heaven are his parents Jose F. and Elvira A. Aguilera; sister, Maria de los Dolores Kohler Candelaria; brothers: Joe J. Aguilera and Robert Aguilera; and nephew, William Joseph Ledbetter. Ben also leaves behind 22 nieces and nephews and 23 grand nieces and nephews. Ben was a Riverside High School graduate, Class of 1976, worked with the Parks and Recreation and most recently worked construction before becoming disabled. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 with Viewing from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 7424 Mimosa Ave. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Acosta, Benjamin Aguilera Jr., Brianne Aguilera, Mark Kohler, Joshua Paul Pinon, and Peter Pinon IV. Honorary pallbearers are Javier Vasquez and Charles Petersen.
