Bertha H. Martinez

Bertha H. Martinez, born October 23, 1925, joined her husband Dave and our beloved Father, in heaven on March 8, 2015 at the age of 89. She was employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety for 27 years and retired in 1979. Bertha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Bertha was preceded in death by her son David Martinez, Jr.; Sister, Rose Bates; brothers, Harold and Robert White; and mother, Concepcion Bates. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ramos (Joe); grandsons, Christopher (Iris) and Jeffrey (Angel) Martinez; granddaughter, Cristina Hamilton (Judge); great-grandsons, Ethan and Aidan Martinez and Colin and Aaron Hamilton as well as several nieces and nephews in El Paso and New Mexico. A special thank you to Ana Khan and the caregivers of Doves’ Nest in San Antonio, Texas for the compassionate and loving care she received during her illness. Visitation will be from 5:00pm with 9:00pm with Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 12:30pm at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
