Beverly Marie Healy

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Beverly Marie Doran Healy passed away June 10, 2014. Beverly was born in Beaver, Iowa September 24, 1929. She was raised on an Iowa farm where she learned a love and respect for nature that she carried all of her life. She was an avid reader, cook, and gardener, but the real love of her life was her husband Dr. Lynn Edward “Pat” Healy. They married June 19, 1948 in Boone, Iowa and were just days from their 66th wedding anniversary when she passed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mina Elizabeth Harker and Benjamin Butler Doran; also her brothers, J.C., Thomas, and James Doran. She is survived by her husband Pat and their five adoring children, James (Sandra) Healy, Dr. Elizabeth Healy McAlister, Dennis (Alline) Healy, Virginia (William) Hovel, Mary Mason (James Monnig). Also her twelve grandchildren, Dr. Kathryn (Christopher) Schmit, Laura Healy, Jake (Toffee) McAlister, Dr. Travis (Ann) McAlister, Kent McAlister, Patrick Healy, Benjamin (Rachel) Healy, Emily (Chad) Richardson, Natalie (Corbin) Blackwell, Lindsay Hovel, Maggie (Jack) Cannon, Justin Mason. Eleven great-grandchildren, Anna, Joseph, Luke, Sophia, Michael, Rhodes, English, Campbell, William, Fiona, Emory, and Bennett. Sisters, Marilyn Doran and Virginia (A.B.) McCall, along with numerous nieces and nephews. We love you and miss you Mom, see you in Heaven. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Friday, June 20, 2014 with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter. Interment will be in Boone, Iowa at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
