Billy Charles Pippin

February 8, 1924 — April 7, 2014

BILLY CHARLES PIPPIN passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the age of 90. Bill was born in Paducah, Kentucky to George and Binnie Pippin on February 8, 1924. He attended Tilghman High School, where he is still remembered as a basketball star, before earning a BA in Business at Western Kentucky State, where he also played tennis. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He married Betty Jane Campbell on July 24, 1950, and they moved West with their family so he could begin his career in paper and packaging sales. After a career with Dixon Paper Company, he founded Pippin Packaging in 1990 to serve the El Paso/Juarez area before retiring in 1996. He and Betty were founding members of Coronado Baptist Church, and he was an avid golfer throughout his life. Bill played golf with the same group of friends for over 30 years at the El Paso Country Club. In retirement, he also enjoyed traveling and following the stock market. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his two daughters, Donna Pippin and Beverly Pippin Laubach and her husband Bill Laubach; and his two grandchildren, Brandon Laubach and Allison Laubach Wright and her husband Duncan Wright. A Celebration of Bill's life will be held on Friday, April 11 at 2:30PM at Coronado Baptist Church, 501 Thunderbird. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
