Carmen A. Ramirez-Salazar August 27, 1981 – January 9, 2015 Carmen A. Ramirez-Salazar, aka “Alex,” passed away on Friday, Janurary 9, 2015 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX. at the age of 33. A resident of El Paso, Texas she is survived by her loving husband Richard Salazar Jr., their daughter Alessandra Amada Ramirez-Salazar, step children Nathan Salazar, Sasini Salazar, Avani Salazar, mother Martha Valdez, brother Angel Ramirez, and niece Natalia Ramirez. Carmen was a highly respected Family Nurse Practitioner in the El Paso Community. She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing, with Honors, from the University of Texas at El Paso. She was employed with Envision Home Health & Hospice, Gastroenterology Specialists of El Paso, and with EMcare serving the Tenet Emergency Departments. Not only was she an intelligent and bright woman, but also an athlete who maintained her fitness at Chad’s Gym and at Get Lifted CrossFit. Carmen was a wonderful mother, step-mother, wife and friend to everyone she met. She was very proud of her accomplishments, proud of what she had become, a powerful young soul with so much love to give. She enjoyed the rhythms of dance music; she loved to dance freely without a care. She greeted everyone with smiles and kisses. Those who really knew Carmen knew this to be true. She earned great respect by so many, and so many wanted to be just like her. A classy, luminous, bright, happy and vibrant soul. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home West 480 N. Resler on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm with Vigil at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa, El Paso, Texas. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home West.
