Charles Buddy Kelker, passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday, May 7, 2015 in El Paso, Texas. He was born August 11, 1930 in Dover, Ohio to the late John T. and Leoda (Knott) Kelker. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sisters Audrey B. Bonner, Glenda Faye Sherrell, and brother Eugene B. Kelker. He will be sadly missed by his family including his wife Sarah Lee (Brady) Kelker. They have six children. Charles E. Kelker and his wife Regina of Maeda Onna Son, Okinawa, Japan; Adrienne L. Kelker of San Antonio, Texas; Marvin B. Kelker and wife Orlanzer of Killeen, Texas; Rhea D. Kelker (Alabarran) of EL Paso, Texas; Timothy J. Kelker of Suffolk Virginia; Sabrae N. Kelker (Bell) of Ft. Belvoir Virginia; and seventeen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and children, Charles is survived by six brothers and sisters: Josephine E. (Frank) Lowery of Dover Ohio, Shirley C. (Eddie) Mills of Dover Ohio, Woodrow Herman (Patricia) Kelker of Columbus Ohio, Brian R. Kelker of Dover Ohio and Wendy S. Greene of Indianapolis, Indiana; Sister-Law Catherine (Ray) Kelker of Dover Ohio; Brother-Law Joseph Sherrell of Akron and a host of nephews and nieces and friends in Berlin, Germany, Ennis and El Paso, Texas, and Dover, Ohio. Upon graduation from Dover High School in 1948, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 27 years with assignments in Korea, Vietnam, Hawaii and many locations around the world with his final assignment in Berlin, Germany. After retiring from the military, he also served for many years as a civilian employee with the Berlin Brigade in Germany before moving to Ennis, Texas where he was active in the local community, including serving as the District and Post Commander of the Ennis Veterans of Foreign Wars. An active member of the Masons since 1956, he was a member of Sunset Lodge #76, Rio Grande Consistory #24, both of El Paso, Texas and also in E. W. Armstrong Lodge #145 of Berlin, Germany where he became the Worshipful Master. In October 1975 he received the 33 degree Honorary Grand Inspector General and was a member of the Order of Easter Stars (District Deputy Grand Worthy Patron). Visitation will be on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home on Kitty Hawk in Universal City, Texas. Funeral Service will begin at 9:30am on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Colonial Funeral Home. Committal Service will follow at 11:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
