Claude Waymon Blakemore, 92, Passed peacefully at home with Cima hospice of El Paso, Friday Nov. 17, 2017 at age of 92. He was born in Harrison Arkansas and lived most of his life in Toledo Ohio.
He worked shortly for Libby Owens Ford Glass company before entering the Navy in 1943 where he was Seaman first class in the Aviation Machinists division. He was extremely proud of his military service. After his military service he began his career at Penn Central Railroad until he retired.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara Blakemore Brujek (Allan), his three sons David, Daniel, James, sister in law Maria del Pilar Blakemore who kindly cared for him for many years before his passing and nephew George Blakemore who helped with his care. He is also loved and mourned by nephews and niece Larry, James, Maurice, Pilita, Waymond Blakemore and other multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents George and Lillian and siblings Helen, James, and Cecil Blakemore. Waymon will be fondly remembered by his family as a loving father, grandfather, and uncle.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Scripture Service will be said at 9:00am on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will follow at 10:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
