Beloved son and brother, Curtis Fitzgerald Black, born on January 20, 1962 in El Paso Texas, passed away on May 11, 2014 at the age of 52 in Death Valley, CA. He grew up in El Paso, TX. He was a loving and caring person, who loved people. He attended Del Norte Elementary, Bel Air High School and New Mexico Highland University. Curtis was active in sports. He loved football and was also in Track and Field. He enjoyed traveling and life. He had lived in Dallas, TX, Honolulu, HI, Mammoth Lake, CA, Yellowstone, WY, Fairbanks, AL, and Death Valley, CA. Curtis was preceded in death by his father (Arthur). He is survived by his mother Edna; his older brother, Cedric (Yong) of Bonaire, GA; his younger sister, Yvette of El Paso, TX; two nephews: Christopher and Alexander; several cousins and many friends. He will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina., Rev. James L. Williams officiating, assistant pastor at Mt Zion Baptist Church. Interment will be held at a later date. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East, El Paso, TX.
