Dorothy Marie DeWitt

Dorothy Marie DeWitt, born August 1, 1929, in Tahlequah, OK, and a longtime resident of El Paso, TX, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2014 at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veteran’s Home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 54 years, James L. DeWitt, her sister, Hazel Barrett and her brother Jimmy Magee both of Mounds, OK. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her surviving family, her son George DeWitt and wife Rachel of El Paso, TX, her daughter, Cyndi DeWitt of Hensley, AR, her sister, Mary Hardy of Sapulpa, OK, her brother David Magee of Mounds, OK, her three grand children, Nicole, Chad and Cory and two great grand children Gabriel and Kaya. Our Mom was a loving homemaker who loved to bake and cook meals for her family. She was a creative seamstress who shared her talents of homemade clothing and gifts with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She loved working in her yard creating beautiful yards and flower gardens. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made, in honor of Dorothy DeWitt, to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation at www.alzinfo.org/donate-mobile.
