Earl E. Wood, 91, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014. Earl was born in Slayton, MN on the 31st of May, 1923. He graduated from a high school in Slayton, Minnesota. He enlisted into the army on the 20th of February in 1943. Earl retired in 1966 as a MSGT E-7. He then went on to serve in the civil service at Fort Bliss in the arts and crafts. Earl’s first marriage was on the 30th of May 1948 to Marie Freitager. Marie passed away on April 30, 1984 and Earl remained. Second marriage was to the love of his life on 16th of June 1985 to Adelaide Bocci, who passed away on July 10, 2004. The last 6 years he devoted his love to Fumico Potter. Earl was a devoted member to the New Hope Lutheran Church. Hobbies included arts and crafts, several armature ham radio clubs, hunting, hiking, photography, Indian artifacts, and spending time with family and friends. These are just to name a few of his hobbies. Preceded in death by both wives; daughter, Hannelore Perry; and sister, Blanche Abbott of MN. Earl is survived by his brother Cecil Wood of Chicago; 3 grandchildren of Texas; six great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a Payer Service at 6:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. The time and date for the Committal Service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery are pending. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
