Elsa P. Lozoya

February 28, 1955 — August 4, 2017

Elsa Lozoya was born on February 28, 1955 in CD. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and entered heavens gates on August 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her mother Alicia Phillips, father Edward Phillips and sister Sonia Phillips. She is survived by her husband of 34 Years; Pablo Lozoya, her 44 yr. old daughter; Mabel Pennington, her 41 yr. old son; Michael/Cindy Phillips, her 30 yr. old son; Ricardo/Damari Lozoya, her grandchildren; Bianca Alicia Pennington, Julian Alton Pennington, Cody Michael Phillips, Ariana Jade Phillips, Michael Seth Phillips, Jessenia Nayeli Lozoya, Azalea Ezli Lozoya and soon to be Kalina Arli Lozoya, brother; Hector Phillips, sister; Patricia Spadadore, nephews; Javier Alejandro Phillips, Christopher Edward Phillips, Matthew Vincent Phillips. Elsa served our country as a soldier in the United States Army, and after as a civilian employee of the Department of Defense as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst, where she retired after 32 Years. She was a loving and doting wife. She was an amazing, selfless, mother whose energy and zest for life, love and laughter knew no bounds. Never once did we doubt her love and devotion. She was dedicated her work and earned the respect of all who crossed her path. She spent several years helping to care for her aging mother and stepfather with love and patience. To her siblings, she was a second mother that was also a sister, a friend and a confidant. Elsa was stringent in her faith, attended church often and dedicated much of her life in the service of God’s work. She volunteered to help in the community in several capacities and enlisted others to do so as well. Through everything she juggled from day to day, she never faltered. It seemed as though her energy was never ending, until ALS took it from her. Elsa was diagnosed in May 2015 with this horrendous disease that took her energy, her strength, her mobility, her speech, her independence and eventually her life. But what it could never claim was her spirit, her dignity, her intelligence, her humor, her spunk, her love and her light. She will be missed by many and will continue to be loved and respected by all who knew her. We love you mama!
