Frances Ruth Hahn-Adams

Frances Ruth Hahn-Adams, born December 13, 1939, and passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Born to Rue and Ruth Hahn, now deceased, Frances was a California transplant. She loved the desert southwest because of its warm climate, starry nights and friendly community. Frances had varying interests throughout her life, but mastered the art of cooking and baking, ceramics and lifelong friendships. She was inducted into the Order of the Eastern Star in 1962, and was a member for over 50 years, becoming Worthy Matron on four different occasions. She was a member in the Golden Rule Chapter #267, and Renick Chapter #37 until her passing. In 1976 Frances joined the Social Order of the Beauceant., where she held many positions and remained a loyal member until the date of her death.. Frances was employed with U.S. Gypsum Co., the City of El Paso and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. Married to William Roy Adams in 1973, now deceased, Frances remained a loving partner until Bill’s death in 1992. Thereafter, she stayed fulfilled for the remainder of her life by working with the Sheriff’s Department until her retirement in 2006, and by remaining actively involved with Eastern Star. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Rue and Ruth Hahn, her brother Larry O. Hahn, and husband William Roy Adams. She is survived by her older brother, Norman Eugene Hahn (Jeanie), sister-in-law Val Hahn, stepchildren Gene Adams, Carol Ekman and Barbara Rothacher, and many nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to those who cared for Frances in the last weeks of her life; Cindi Aboud, Susie Shinaut, Val Hahn, Jerry Hahn, Lorraine DeWeerd, Linda LaRock and the nursing staff at Providence Hospital ICU. In lieu of flowers, Frances had requested that donations be made to the Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation in honor of her nephew Braden at 5024 Doniphan #2, El Paso, Texas, 79932. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
