Graciela G. Medina

Our beloved “mami, bilita and nana”, Graciela G. Medina, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017, at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor Medina, and daughter, Sofia Carolina Vega. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Garcia (spouse: Raul Garcia) and Tita Yanar (spouse: Victor A. Yanar), her son, Javier Armando Velarde, her son-in-law, Tom Vega; her grandchildren: Tomas Javier (TJ) Vega (spouse: Natalia), Soraya Yanar-Hanshew (spouse: Erik Hanshew), Victor Omar Yanar, and Crystal Gonzalez (spouse: Joshua Gonzalez); her great-granddaughters: Monserrat and Victoria Vega, Alea Hanshew and Jasmine Gonzalez; and her nieces, nephews and in-laws. She devoted her life to her family and a fervent Catholic faith that sustained her and, ultimately, provided peace and solace when it was time for her to join her heavenly maker. In her youth, she was beautiful and bold. In her later years, she endured the loss of loved ones and illness with resignation and dignity. Her memory will live on in the hearts, thoughts and prayers of those of us who loved her. May God and Our Lady of Guadalupe have you in their loving care. Visitation 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass 11:30am Friday, July 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama. Committal Service 1:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
