Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Hanako Wakita Harris passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018.
Hanako was born in Tokyo, Japan on August 17, 1930. After WWII, she married U.S. Army Master Sergeant, William C. Harris. In 1962, their travels brought them to El Paso, where they made their permanent residence.
Hanako worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Ft. Bliss and retired after 20 years of exemplary service. During her retirement years she loved spending time with family and friends. She was a very kind and generous person who enjoyed life to the fullest.
Hanako was preceded in death by her parents, Tokijuro and Tsune Wakita. She is survived by her daughter Linda Wise and husband John; son John Harris and wife Rosa; sister, Fumiko Wakita; grandchildren Jessica and Joshua Wise, Jacob and Richie Harris; and great-grandchild Amelia Wise.

Gathering of Remembrance will be from 10:00am to 11:00am with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:30am on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
