Hattie M. Perkins, wife of Benny H. Perkins (1SG US Army Ret), was called home to be with The Lord on July 22, 2014, after a long and extensive illness. She was born in Flushing, New York on April 29, 1941 to the late Williams and Lottie Curtis.
She was preceded in death by parents, three sisters and two brothers. Hattie leaves behind to cherish and celebrate her memory, her husband Benny; daughter, Antonitte; and sons Benny Jr., and Brandon; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Hattie and Benny were married on March 11, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York and have shared 53 wonderful years together. Hattie had a love for sports and attended several events with Benny and friends. She also had a love for her favorite past time, Bingo and slot machines.
In 1995, Hattie Retired from civil service after 20 years of faithful service with supply and engineer division at Fort Bliss, Texas.
After retirement she enjoyed life with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Following the services she will be cremated. Interment will take place at a later date at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
