September 14, 1926 — March 27, 2018

Jack Giacomo Jr. passed away in El Paso on March 27, 2018 at age 92. He was born in Salt Lake City Utah on September 14, 1926 to Jack Giacomo and Rose Miller. He graduated from the University of Utah as an electrical engineer and served in the United States Navy from September 14, 1944 to November 19, 1945, enlisting on his 18th birthday. His professional working career involved outstanding technical employment by the Department of Army at White Sands Proving Ground for forty years. He is survived by sons Michael and David Giacomo and granddaughters Valerie and Violet. Wife Helga and son Dennis both deceased. Salt Lake City direct family members include brothers Don and Alan Giacomo and sister Betty Damron. Jack has greatly appreciated and enjoyed true friendship from many fellow workers, golfers, Veterans Administration personnel and others. He loved El Paso and the multi-culture therein. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. He wished that people would celebrate his life rather than mourn his loss. Donations may be made to the Hospice of El Paso in his name. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home West. Please visit our online registry at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
