Jacqueline Joanne Anderson-Wood

Jacqueline Joanne Wood, 65, of El Paso, Texas left our side peacefully Sunday morning, January 12th, 2014. She was preceded in passing by her late husband William B. Wood. Jacqueline was born into a large family on the 4th of July, and spent most of her childhood years in Ogden, Utah. When she was a teenager, her parents relocated to El Paso, Texas, where she would call home the rest of her life. Always a caring, and loving person Jacqueline graduated from El Paso Community College and Texas Tech University to become a Nurse; an occupation she would have for more than 30 years. She spent those years caring for many at Thomason Hospital emergency room, workers at the El Paso Electric Company, and special needs units for the Ysleta Independent School District. A smart, witty, giving, artistic, and loving person she will be greatly missed by her family and those who's lives she touched over the years. A strong woman, who fought illness for years but continued to work and care for other family members, children, and friends. She is survived by her parents Joseph M. and Bertha Jacques; Sons Rowdy Anderson and Eric Ward; Sister Susan Jenkins; brother Michael Jacques; Daughter In-Law Lisa, and her grandchildren whom she adored: Brittney, Breanna, and Eric Jr.; as well as the countless number of friends and family spread throughout. Her family will greatly miss her and though we mourn her loss we realize she is at piece after her long, hard fought battle with cancer. We would like to thank all for the well wishes, her concerned friends, extended family, as well as all the nurses of the Y.I.S.D who sacrificed vacation days every year so that Jacqueline could to do more treatments. Visitation: 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil at 7:00pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Scripture Service: 9:30am on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
