John Joseph Loury

John Joseph Loury, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home in El Paso, Texas. He was born on September 10, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey, and proudly served over twenty years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. John was a caring, compassionate husband, father, sibling, and friend who lived an impressive life filled with many wonderful lasting memories, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by: his wife Pok Sun Loury, son John Joseph Loury Jr., daughter Teresa Ann Owen, granddaughters Kenna Owen, Isabella Owen, and Jillian Owen, brother Peter Verhoeven, and sister Pauline Lauff. He was predeceased by: his father Adam Loury; mother Mary Beyens; and loving son Kenneth Joseph Loury. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Michael’s Chapel #2. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
