Jose Antonio "Tony" Canales, 51 became our angel above to watch over us all on October 12, 2014. Preceded in death by his sister Marina Canales Flores, He is survived by his parents Juan and Sara Canales, his true love and soul mate Eva, his brothers Ernesto(Belinda), Manny (Elida), David (Lily), Arnold (Rita) and Rene (Lola). Tony has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He worked in the automotive business for over 25 years as a parts consultant. He really enjoyed his jobs and the many friendships he made. A few of these places were "Collins Imports Auto Service, Bob Hoy, Mack Massey BMW and El Paso Honda.Tony shared his talent and love of music with El Paso and Mexico. He started playing bass guitar at a very early age, and in the mid 80's he recorded his first album and toured Mexico with ASHA. A few other bands he had a pleasure of playing with are "Attitude", " Cuervo", "Ulysses", "PokerFace", "Fab4cezz", "Hollow Point", "James Rivera's Sabbath Judas Sabbath", and "Synyster". His recent band is "The Birdogs" and he has been playing bass with them since 1997, and made many special appearances with many of our local talents. Tony has a big heart and played many benefits for anyone who needed his help and was forever grateful when he became sick and all his band brothers played for him. You could meet him once but he would touch your heart Forever. Tony always had a smile on his face, a song in his heart, love in his soul and laughter in his breath. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a prayer service at 5 pm and A Celebration of Life at 7 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. A Funeral Service will be held at 9 am Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home East. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
