Lady Louise Byron Born 01.08.32 in Monroe, MI, Lady Byron graduated from Battle Creek High School, with honors, and attended the University of Michigan in Kalamazoo. Lady Louise Byron died on February 02.14.14 Married 01.20.53 to Dennis Donald Acheson of Flint, MI, she joined him during his military assignment in El Paso and worked as to president secretary at Fort Bliss, TX with the US Army Air Defense Board, a research and development organization. The couple had two daughters, Cheryl Lynn, and Linda Susan. Mr. Acheson died 08.31.71. In 1973, Lady received her college degree, BS in pre-law/political science. Next, She earned a Master Degree of Educational Administration during 1974. She then worked at the El Paso Community College, as Director of the Management Department. In 1975, she returned to Fort Bliss, as Director of Education at the US Sergeants Major Academy and next transferred to the US Army Air Defense School, assigned to the Directorate of Training Development. She authored the Military Training Manual for the STINGER Missile System. In 1985, she transferred to the School's Department of Staff and Faculty. While serving there she became the first woman at Fort Bliss to attend the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KA graduating first in her class and was the first woman promoted to the rank of senior instructor. She retired in 1986 Cheryl, husband Rick, and two children, Nicholas and Sydnee, make California home Linda, husband Brian Gagnon reside in Arizona. Linda has one daughter, Jenafer Fahey who resides in Texas. Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church (Ford Chapel) with Reverend Dr. Lowrie and Pastor Nichols officiating. A private burial service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church, El Paso, Texas. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
