Laurenzo (Larry) Rosario Belisle passed away on September 17, 2017 in El Paso, Texas at the age of 89. Larry was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on November 17, 1927, the eldest son of Joseph Belisle and Adelina (Legault) Belisle. He served his nation as a member of the Army Air Corps/US Air Force from 1946 to 1949, and faithfully performed the duties of an aerial photographer. Larry married the love of his life, Irene (Bissonnette) Belisle in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts on November 22, 1951 and they enjoyed over 41 years together loving life and raising their family. He spent his professional career as an electrical engineer in Springfield, Massachusetts; El Paso, Texas; and Wynne, Arkansas. Larry was a life-long devoted Catholic and was always active within the Church. No matter what adversity and sadness life threw at him, his unwavering faith in God and Life Everlasting empowered him to face those hardships with resolute good cheer. He was always quick with a wide smile and a joke and did his best to brighten the lives of those around him. Those who must bid farewell to him for now include his brother John (Charlotte) Belisle of Worcester, Massachusetts; son Wayne (Dora) Belisle of El Paso, Texas; daughter Darlene Belisle of Farmer’s Branch, Texas; daughter Dawn (Mike) Liss of Monument, Colorado; son Shawn (Jill) Belisle of New Lisbon, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Among those who welcomed him to the joyous reunion in the next life were his wife Irene, son Alan, his wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Aaron, Auburn, and Cassandra Liss. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Homes, 750 Carolina, El Paso, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 9:00am at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Committal Service will follow at 10:30am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Larry was one of the most honorable men anyone could ever hope to meet. He will be greatly missed.
