Leecy E Braxton

Leecy E. Braxton Was born on 15 October 1932, and passed away on 16 May 2015 She was a graduate of Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital of Atlanta, GA, now known as Emory University Midtown. After graduation she entered the U.S Air Force Nurse’s Corp. as an officer, serving her country. It was there she met and married her best friend/husband Robert C. Braxton IV, USAF. Lt. Col. (Deceased). They were married 50 years prior to his death in November 2006. She is preceded in death by her parents Clide and Leona Frasier. She is survived by her two sons Robert C. Braxton and William M. Braxton, both of El Paso, TX. Brother, Charles W. Pope and Wife Mary Ann of Miramar Beach, Fla. She worked for the E.P.I.S.D for 20+ years as a staff nurse in nursing services. She is a life time member of the National Association of School Nurses; a past member of the local school nurse of the year of local Region XIX. After retirement, she continued in her drive to help people by volunteering for the American Red Cross at WBAMC in OR, PACU and ICU. She is also a member of the Blinded Veteran’s Association and its auxiliary, and the Retired Teacher’s Association. She is also a member of the Society of Military Widows, MOAA, NAUS and a life time member of the USAF MSC Association. The family would like to thank the professionals at Sierra Medical Center and Trisun Hospital for their care in her final days. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast with Interment following at 2:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
