Linda L. Mitro
Linda was born to Gussie Lee Hicks and Mabel Maree West on May 3rd 1943 in Greenwood, Arkansas and passed away on May 14th 2015 in El Paso, Texas. Linda was one in a billion, someone that we all should emulate but find it difficult to measure up to. Preceded in death by her third daughter, Sherrie. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gregory L. Mitro; her sister, Troyce (Samantha) Gillin; and her children: Zondra L. Pittman (Richard), Sara L. Hernandez (Carlos), Eric H. Wetzel (Missy Jo), Patrick S. Mitro (Anette) and Dorothy J. Rost (Leigh), ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Linda worked as a dental technician for Loma Linda University, caring for the Navajo Indians while living at Montezuma Creek, Utah. After moving to Corona, New Mexico Linda opened her restaurant, Linda's Corona Cafe, which became a favorite stop for then-governor Garrey Carruthers and his entourage. New Mexico State Police officers assigned to the area conducted their meetings there as well. Her life was full of purpose and care for others. We were abundantly blessed to have such a devoted, selfless and loving mother and wife. Linda is now at peace, may God rest her soul. Memorial Service will begin at 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, May 25, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will be Private.
