Manuela M. Salgado

On October 16, 2014, our Lord called His daughter, “Grandma Mae,” Manuela Montes Salgado, to His kingdom. Grandma Mae was born on August 19, 1938, in Van Horn, Texas. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her memory will always live in the hearts of her family who are left behind, which include her children Louis (Frances), Tomas, Ruben, Matias (Cecilia), Corinna Martinez (Saul), Rose Marie Benavidez (Mario), 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and by the many people whose lives she touched. She has joined her parents, Antonia Flores and Tomas Montes, husband, Luis Salgado, sister, Herminia Scott, and brother, Tomas Montes in everlasting life. We were all blessed, and our lives were enriched by her endless love and wisdom. She was greatly adored and will be deeply missed. Pallbearers; Jesse Salgado, Ramon Salgado, Adrian Mendoza, Matthew Salgado, Eric Salgado. Honorary pallbearers; Victor Salgado, Ruben Salgado Jr., Anthony Salgado. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 4-9 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina. The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at 9:30 AM at San Antonio Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr., interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
