Margarethe Maria Therasia Rosales, 84, resident of El Paso, Texas, passed away on December 3, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on March 10, 1929, the Daughter of Franz Josef and Gertrud (Schulz) Delfing. She spent her life committed to family and helping the community. Her caring and generous spirit extended to not only her family, always her first priority, but also to those less fortunate whom she supported at the El Paso Del Norte Food Bank where she served as the Volunteer Director. Margarethe was part of the Texas AFL-CIO and a member of AFSCME Local 59. She retired in 1996 as the Director of Community Services/Labor Liaison at the United Way of El Paso. She was survived by her loving children: James (Lupe) of Vermont, Louis (Sonja) of El Paso, and Steve (Kim) of Washington; 13 Grandchildren; and 24 Great-Grandchildren. Many a life of those she came into contact with were enriched. We will all miss her witty humor, insight and spark in conversation. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Luis, her daughter Barbara, and her parents, Franz Josef and Gertrud. Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church Chapel #2. Interment will be private.
