Mariah Bernardez was born on August 28, 1993 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Marcus Andrew Bernardez and Cynthia Ainsworth-Bernardez.
Mariah moved to Killeen, Texas at the age of 12 and graduated from Shoemaker High School in 2011. She later attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Upon graduating and getting her certificate as a Surgical Technology in 2016, she began working with the University Medical Center of El Paso. Mariah married Michael Issa in May 2017. The couple met in Waco, Texas and later moved to El Paso, Texas where they resided.
Mariah could put a smile on anyone's face and had a beautiful smile; she had a heart of gold. She was very caring and was a loyal friend who stood by her friends in times of need. Mariah loved her family and was the youngest of three children, sister to Marcus Bernardez Jr and Torrey Bernardez.
On January 7, 2018, at approximately 7:06 pm, our beautiful rose passed along with her spouse. Mariah will be dearly missed and leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her father Marcus Andrew Bernardez, her mother Cynthia Ainsworth-Bernardez, her brothers Marcus Bernardez and Torrey Bernardez, her uncles Victor Bernardez, Tommy Herrera, Daniel Perez, Eugene Crossland, Kevin Ainsworth, her aunts Michelle Bernardez, Yolanda Perez, Diana Herrera, Sheila Ainsworth, Dominque Ainsworth, and all of her cousins in Belize, California, Texas, and Louisiana, and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 6:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm Friday, January 12, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will be held privately. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Please visit our online registry book at: www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
