Marian Glasgow Rogers Born January 24, 1924, in Roanoke Rapids, N. C. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her spouse of 71 years Lee Hurst Rogers, Sr., her sisters Doris Glasgow Riddick and Jackie McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Trey Armstrong Rogers. Lee and Marian were the proud parents of four children, Barbara Rogers Rowe (Daniel), Lee Hurst Rogers Jr., Linda Rogers Fite (Frank) and Dorothy Rogers Keeble (John). They have 5 surviving grandchildren, Elaine Rowe Nelson, Claire Rowe Hammond, Angela Rowe Luttrell, Frank E. Fite II, Kevin B. Fite and Cody Lee Keeble and 17 great grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers worked as the bookkeeper and corporate secretary for Morris Furniture Distributors in Columbia, S. C. for over 25 years. She was a member of the Bud and Bloom garden club. Marian won several blue ribbons for her flower arrangements at the South Carolina State Fair. Marian and Lee were long time residents of Columbia South Carolina where Lee was a deacon at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. Upon retirement Marian and Lee moved to El Paso Texas to be near their children. While residing in El Paso Marian enjoyed trips to the casino and doing water aerobics at the YWCA. A Visitation will be held for Mrs. Rogers from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30pm on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
