Patricia Marion Stearns

March 6, 1937 — January 1, 2014

Patricia Marion Stearns (Finsterbusch) March 6, 1937 to January 1, 2014 The start of the new year brought the passing of Patricia “Pat” Stearns, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and loyal friend. She will be remembered as a woman who was intelligent, graceful, compassionate, thoughtful, caring, wise, and funny. She was adored by all. Pat was born in San Pedro, CA and raised in S. San Francisco where she met and married the love of her life, Harold in 1954. They were married February 4, 1956 and relocated to El Paso in 1958 when Harold was stationed at Ft. Bliss. Pat worked at Andress High School and then H.E. Charles Middle School where she made many friends along the way. She loved her garden, ladybugs and hummingbirds. Before she left to be with God, she left these words for future generations: “Love one another. Always be there for one another. Give support when needed. Remember that no one is perfect. Respect each other’s differences. Be understanding, even though you may not always agree. Don’t forget to smile! What you do to or for others comes back to you. Only you can create good Karma.” Pat is survived by her beloved husband of almost 57 years, Retired CW3 Harold R. Stearns; four children, Glen, Carolyn (Acosta), Dwayne, and Kim; four grandchildren, Nicole (Acosta), Jennifer (Acosta-Walton), Trista (Ashok), and Carleen; and four great grandchildren, Milo, Riley, Kacie, and Koko. Our family would like to extend our sincerest heartfelt gratitude to our Hospice family for their caring, love, and compassion beyond the call of duty: Janie Zermeno, Lourdes (LuLu) Garcia, and Jesus Sandoval. At Pat’s request, celebrate her life by wearing colorful attire to her Memorial Visitation at 12:30pm and her Celebration of Life, to be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 10, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Committal Service will follow at 2;30pm on Friday, January 10, 2013 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Disabled Veterans Chapter 187, 8888 Dyer, Suite 515, El Paso, TX, 79924, at her request.
