Heaven received a beautiful angel with the passing of Paulette J. Hansen on December 1, 2014.
Paulette was born June 22, 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa. She is preceded in death by both her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Raymond D. Hansen, son Todd M. Hansen, daughter Tammy K. Hansen Smith (Russell K.), grand daughters Alicia Aceves (Greg), Shaniqua Hansen and Tatiana Smith, great grandchildren Raymond, Alicyn, Amber, Izaah and Hailey, her brother Jay Wren and sister Susie Motley, along with many loving friends.
Paulette was a wife and mother first and foremost. She became a military wife, accompanied the love of her life to many places and made abundance of loving friends along the way. They settled in El Paso, Texas, and it is the place she called home for 40 years. She was a hard working woman. The last 24 years, she was a cancer survivor . She was the longest bone marrow transplant patient up until the time of her passing.
Paulette was a true walking miracle, and her strength was an inspiration to all she came in contact with.
Paulette would encourage you to live life to the fullest no matter what. She would have wanted everyone to know cancer did not beat her and she will be found in the Southwest corner of Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 8, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, with an interment to follow at 1:30 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
