Robert Ben Avner

Robert B. Avner, 89, of El Paso, died March 5. He was raised in Lincoln, NE, where he earned a BS in Business from The Univ. of Nebraska. He was a lifelong self-employed businessman, working in financial services and real estate. Bob is survived by brothers Sam and Thom Avner; children, Malcolm Avner and his wife Beth, Eileen Moore and her husband John and their children Matthew and Sydney, and Deanne Avner and her husband, Sean Mulcahy and their daughter Katelyn; his sister-in-law, Carol Avner and nephews, Mark and Craig, and longtime dear companion Midge Oden. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Ann Mandel Avner. Bob served in WWII and Korea and was National Commander in Pershing Rifles from 1947-48. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 7, at 2:30 p.m. at Temple Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
