Robert E. Jones

Robert Estel Jones passed into Glory on November 30, 2013. Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on February 13, 1929. A lifelong resident of El Paso, he graduated from Austin High School in 1946. An Army Veteran, he retired from Mountain Bell in 1981 after 37 years of service and was a member of Cielo Vista Church since 1977. He was preceded in death by parents: Lewis Isaac (Myrtle) Jones and Eunice Jones; sisters: Pat Addington, Ruth Treadway; and grandson, James Robert Jones. He is survived by wife, Barbara Ann of 55 years; children: Michael, Donna (Eddie) Smith, Nancy (Rick) Tate, Robert E. (Jamie) Jones Jr.; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth (Herbert) Mole. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Pastor Ryan Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Franklin Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East, El Paso, TX.
