He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Raymundo, Alfredo “Felo”, sister Manuela “Chata”, and son Jose Antonio “Pepe”. Born May 31, 1935, in Anthony, NM to Antonio and Luisa Jacquez, Jerry became the story teller everyone knew and loved. His favorite stories involved how he earned his nickname and his trips to California to visit his brother and nephews.
He met and married his wife in 1971 and renewed their vows in 1986 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Jerry forever remained an active member in the church, ensuring that his daughters and grandchildren were raised with a strong faith in God.
Jerry loved to read and spent most of his time sitting at the kitchen table reading books on World War II and working on his word search puzzles. He and his wife worked as custodians at a bank in Anthony for 38 years.
He will always be remembered for his knowledge of the Jacquez family history, his love for old cowboy movies, appreciation of history, his joy of hosting family gatherings, and his wonderful singing voice which was always heard from his house to the bank to public places.
