Roberto Piedra

Roberto Piedra, 88, passed away May 21, 2014. He was born April 1, 1926 in Anapra, New Mexico. He spent his childhood in Anapra and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He attended El Paso Technical High School and served in the U.S. Army thereafter. Roberto married Maria Arroyo on August 28, 1955 in El Paso, Texas. He was an avid handball player, diver, and swimmer. Roberto was preceded in death by his wife, Maria and his son, Miguel Angel. He is survived by his daughter, Maria Rodriguez; son, Roberto Piedra, Jr; grandchildren: Carlos Rodriguez, Erica Rodriguez, Elisa Piedra, and Victoria Piedra; brothers: Enrique and Jesus Piedra; and sister, Ana Aguilera. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., with a Vigil to begin at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Interment will be Private. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
