November 19, 1927 — August 18, 2010

Roberto Rodriguez “el flaco”, 82, beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called home by Our Lord on August 18, 2010. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, photographer, and orchid plant grower. He loved all types of music and by trade a master furniture refinisher. His organizational skills, creative mind, and talented endeavors allowed him to undertake and experience life to the fullest. Such as: In his youth organizing a neighborhood American football team the “Juarez Buffalos” that claimed many a victory in Juarez and El Paso, founded the fishing and hunting club “La Ganga Juarez” and later on in life he joined the “El Paso del Norte Orchid Society” growing price winning orchids. Let it be known that all of the endeavors and achievements of his life, the greatest of all was achieved when he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. He is survived by his wife, Eloisa “Liz” Rodriguez, son, Roberto Rodriguez Jr., daughter-in-law, Martha G. Rodriguez, grandchildren, Gabriel R. Rodriguez, Joel A. Rodriguez, and Sarah A. Rodriguez, brother, Dario Rodriguez, and multiple nephews and nieces. The Rodriguez family wishes to note a heart filled gratitude to the following people: Dennis White our neighbor and close friend, Dr. Samuel Romero, Luz, Letty, and Dr Michael Traylor and his staff. In addition, we also thank all our relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers that accompany us in this moment in life. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm, Monday, August 23, 2010 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana, 1212 N. Stevens, with a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm, by Pastor John Hastey. Graveside Service will be at 9:00 am, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Evergreen East Cemetery. Interment will be at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
