Samuel Trujillo, Jr., 65, passed away July 23, 2014. He is preceded in death by his father; Samuel Trujillo, Sr. and brother; Bobby Trujillo. Samuel is survived by his mother; Sara Trujillo, daughter; Pauline Trujillo, brothers; Miguel, Jose, Eugene, sisters; Margarita Gomez, Irma Chavez, Nora Rodriguez, 3 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren. Sam was a member of the first graduating class of Socorro High School and a proud Native American of the Piro tribe. His favorite past times included planting crops and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Samuel dedicated his time to digging the plots at the Socorro Mission. He worked at Phelps Dodge and Fort Bliss cemetery for several years. He became a master at any hobby he took up including making chile ristras, welding, and working in the fields. While serving in Vietnam War, Samuel contracted malaria. Well after recovery, Samuel returned home where he developed other illnesses which he fought with courage but ultimately lost his battle with. He was a friend to anyone and everyone and knew of no enemies. Samuel was a very generous and kind hearted man. He loved his grandchildren and is a great loss to all his family and friends. Visitation: 4:00-9:00 pm, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas Vigil: 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass: 9:30 am, Monday, July 28, 2014 at La Purisma Catholic Church.
