Santiago Ramirez, 86, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 following a sudden turn for the worse from an ongoing illness.
He leaves behind a sister, Antonia Perez, two daughters, Patricia and Mary Lou Ramirez, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Born in Jerome, Arizona, raised in Juarez, Chihuahua; Santiago lived most of his life in the USA, including in Los Angeles, California, and made his home in El Paso, Texas. He was an active duty member of the Army from March 1, 1951 to November 30, 1952, during the Korean War.
Santiago had a love for music; he enjoyed socializing and performing for his family and friends.
Above all Santiago was a wonderful father and grandfather. His kind and gentle spirit was and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us. He never had an unkind word for anyone and lived a simple, humble life. He had an unconditional love and acceptance for his daughters and grandchildren, supporting them in all their endeavors. We can only hope to become half the person he taught us to be. Dad, grandpa you live in our hearts forever.
