Seymour Ash

Dr. Seymour Ash passed away on January 26, 2014. He was born in 1923 in the state of New York, moved to New Jersey at a very young age. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1947 and was a dental intern and resident in oral surgery at New Jersey State Hospital, Greystone Park. He was Captain in the United Staes Army oral surgery section at Fort Benning and Fort Bliss. A veteran of World War II and Korea. Preceded by his spouse of 55 years, Margaret Jeanne Ash, RN. He is survived by sons; David Michael Ash and his wife Helene and their children David Michael Jr. and Anna Marie, Robert Brian Ash and his wife Gloria and their children Kristen Nichole and Kelly Elizabeth; sisters; Lillian Weiner of San Diego and Ruth Bergman of Florida and their families. Dr. Ash began private practice of dentistry in El Paso, Texas in 1955, practiced dentistry 51 years until his retirement. He was a member of American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, El Paso Dental Society, Chairman of International Dental Conference now El Paso Dental Conference 1969, President of El Paso Dental Society 1970; Chairman Judicial Council of Texas Dental Association 8 years. Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry; Fellow of International College of Dentists; Fellow of Royal Society of Health; order of Good Fellow from Texas Dental Association; Life member of Texas Dental Association and American Dental Association; Academy of General Dentistry, Emeritus; prestigious fifty year award from Texas Dental Association. Retired from active practice in 1998. Dr. Ash was very active in Discover El Paso. He held various offices and enjoyed the close friendships he maintained with the members of Discover El Paso. Graveside Service will be at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, with military honors.
