Shaun Anthony Herbert

Shaun Anthony Herbert, 37 passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015. He was born October 1, 1977 in Annapolis, Maryland and resided in Churchton, Maryland throughout his childhood. Shaun graduated from Southern High School and joined the Army in 1998. Shaun began his military career with and overseas tour in Korea. He also served with the 101st at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he deployed overseas to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his combat tour Shaun was then stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Shaun received an honorable discharged from the military in the fall of 2006 after serving seven years. Afterwards, Shaun continued to live in the El Paso area to be closer to his youngest children. Along with his military awards Shaun also earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. Shaun enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, customizing his Cadillac, eating Maryland crabs and supporting the Washington Redskins. Shaun is survived by his three children, Anthony, Morgan and Marcus Herbert. Shaun is also survived by his parents Oscar and Cheryl Herbert, his sister Stephanie Baldean and her Husband Flavius, brother Stefon Herbert, sister Latisha Herbert, sister Jule Herbert, sister Darnise Henderson and her husband Henry Henderson. Shaun also leaves behind nieces Camaelia Baldean and Londyn Prewitt and nephews Brysan Prewitt and Oliver Baldean. Shaun was blessed with many friends both in Texas and Maryland and the family wishes to thank them all for their love and support. Funeral services for Shaun will be held at Sunset Funeral Home at 4631 Hondo Pass Drive in El Paso. Visitation will take place Sunday, 2/22 from 5-7 pm and Monday, 2/23 from 11-12 pm. Funeral services will follow from 12-1 pm with burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
