Sheila Storm McElroy
Sheila McElroy, 67, of El Paso, went home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 25, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on September 9, 1950 to the late Clyde E. Storm and Selma H. Storm. Her childhood was also greatly influenced by step-mother, Ernestine North; aunt, Josephine North; and beloved grandmother, Fern Storm.
After attending a Billy Graham revival, she gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 13 and spent the rest of her time here on earth living her faith out loud. She attended Coronado Baptist Church, where she actively participated in several areas of women’s ministry as well as other church activities.
Sheila leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Dwayne Sanford McElroy; daughter, Magen Ellison (Chris); son, Michael McElroy (Marissa); grandchildren, McKenna and Campbell Ellison, and Mackenzie and Max McElroy as well as numerous family members, “bonus” children, and life-long friends.
She will always be remembered as a devoted and loving “Meme” to those that she cherished. Sheila had one of the biggest and brightest smiles that filled the hearts of everyone she encountered. She loved deeply and without regret. Her soft heart overflowed with tenderness and everyone was welcome in her home, as she considered the act of selfless love the ultimate gift of grace.
A celebration of life will be held at Coronado Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30th. The celebration is specifically being held on Good Friday in remembrance of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and the salvation of our sins in anticipation for eternal heavenly life.
Service arrangements are being provided by Sunset Funeral Homes (West). The family requests that memorials be made to either Gideon’s International or the El Paso Humane Society in honor of Sheila’s memory.
