Socorro O. "Sukie" Ramos

Socorro (Sukie) Ramos, 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 surrounded by all her family. Sukie was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. at a young age. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfonso and Maria de Jesus Ortega. She leaves behind her beloved husband Armando Ramos. They shared their lives in marriage for 52 years. Sukie had 2 daughters, Laura A. Ramos and Christina Gutierrez (Frank) and a son Armando Ramos, Jr. (Cristina) all from El Paso, Texas. She was a wonderful sister to Josefina Aguilar (Sergio), Agustin Ortega, Frances Armendariz (Cesar), Mary Justiniano (Jorge) and Lydia Quinonez (Ruly); she also leaves behind 3 grandchildren Priscilla J. Ramos, Javier Gutierrez and Kristy Gutierrez; 1 great granddaughter Iris Corralejo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She loved all her family deeply. Sukie also worked at Austin High School (cafeteria) for 30 years of her life. She was a strong and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her children were her life. She will be truly missed by everyone that knew her. Sukie was a kind and generous person who was always there for her family and friends. Our hearts will ache for the loss of a beautiful woman inside and out. But she will never ever be forgotten and will always be in our heart. So many memories, she is at peace now. The Ramos family would like to give a special thank to Tendercare Home Health, her nurse Sylvia Trujillo who was wonderful during her illness. Also, thank you to Dr. W Strader, Dr. A Chavez and Dr. J. Herreda that gave her excellent care and Gentiva Hospice during her last days on earth. Pallbearers will be: Cesar Armendariz, Ruly Quinonez, Jorge Justiniano, Memo Espinosa and Frank Gutierrez. Visitation: 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil/ Rosary at 7:00pm on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass: 9:00am on Saturday, March 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal Service: 11:00am on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
