Sonia Berrios Seguinot, born March 19 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico went Home to her Beloved Jesus Thursday, May 10, 2018. Survived by her daughters Janet Austin, Enid LeBlanc, grandchildren Jillian Winfree, Brianne Weindel, Zoe and Nico Bustillos, and 6 great grandchildren; Isaiah, Anthony, Ronin, Jade, Eden, and Emory. Sonia was more affectionately known as “Pipa.” Pipa was a devoted Catholic who started and ended every day with prayer. Sonia enjoyed being physically active. She participated in all physical fitness and sports in high school, excelling in track and field and basketball; and later became an avid and very accomplished bowler.
She gave her time to the Red Cross for many years, being a favored and well sought after volunteer that took much pride and dedication to her role. Sonia was a very bright and resourceful woman, teaching herself two languages outside of her native Spanish tongue. She exercised regularly and revered in being a self-sufficient, industrious and self-reliant person. Sonia had a unique sense of humor, always entertaining and soothing those in need, and providing care to the homebound. It was a natural progression to serve the Lord as a Eucharistic minister for many years at St. Thomas Aquinas.
Sonia adored her family, to include extended family. To know Sonia was to love her, she embraced all and has left a huge imprint in everyone’s lives. Our Mother will be fiercely missed. Rest in Peace Pipa, We Love you!
