WILLIAM C. TARR, 88, was called into heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 24, 2015. “Bill” was originally from Lima, Ohio and moved to El Paso in 1978. He was a long time member of the El Paso Country Club, Rotary Club and Saint Matthews Catholic Church. He served 3 years in the U.S. Navy as an Ensign and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Company after over 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and always enjoyed time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Zita A. Downey Tarr. He is survived by sons Connell and wife Lillian, of Haverhill, MA, Jeffrey and wife Lisa, of Missouri City, TX, daughter Karen and grandchildren Amanda, Alex, Kyler, Shaely and Cailyn and great-grandson Quentin. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 12:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West,with Chaplain Eduardo Henningham officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00PM, with Navy Honors.
