Alfred Douglas Atton
1932 - 2018
Doug Atton (85) of El Paso, passed away the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 20th because of a long and debilitating battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Doug, son of Alfred and Gladys Atton was born in Walkerville, Ontario, Canada on October 7st, 1932.
Doug’s early years were spent living in Windsor, Canada and Detroit, Michigan. While attending college (Ohio University & University of Houston) during the summer, Doug would hitchhike across the continental US, some 47 states, taking various jobs along the way to further the trek with friends Mac and Dick. Doug met the love of his life Nyla Jean Gore while attending U of H, married and had 4 children. During his early adult life, Doug was an avid photographer, with many pictures of his flowers from his green house. Doug was also involved with the Boy Scouts for some 40 years and obtained the Silver Beaver award. Doug worked in the carpet industry up until Parkinson’s forced him to retire.
Doug, is survived by his children Allan, Rick and his wife Stephanie, Jim and his wife Lacy, Alayne and her husband Fred, grandchildren Tiffany and her husband Mike, Loni, Krystal, Douglas, Jennifer, Justin, Ned, Ashley, Will, Sam, Josh, Paige, JD, Kenzington, great grandchildren Andre, Mikayla, Trinity, Aiden, Harrison, Hutch, Nyla, and Chanel.

A Viewing will be at Sunset Funeral Home, 480 N. Resler, in El Paso, Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 12 PM to 2 PM. A graveside service will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, New Mexico on Monday, February 26 at 1.30 PM
